Several hundreds of vehicles remain stuck on both sides at Daulatdia-Paturia ferry ghat since Sunday night.
BIWTC officials said to media that the tailback stretched from Daulatdia Zero Point to Goalanda Feed Mill on Dhaka-Khulna highways, causing sufferings to the passengers. Apart from this, another tailback was created from Goalanda Mor in Rajbari to Felu’s shop.
Manager of BIWTC Daulatdia Office Abu Abdullah Rony said that a total of 16 ferries are in service on these routes. To reduce suffering, stranded passengers buses are being allowed to cross the river on a priority basis.
On the other hand, Bishwa Zaker Manzil’s Urs in Faridpur also led to the pressure of vehicles on the route.
