Valorous freedom fighter Abdus Sabur Khan Bir Bikram passed away at a private hospital in Dhaka last night. He was 87.
According to his son Biplob Sabur Khan, Abdus Sabur Khan breathed his last around 10:00pm.
On April 8, Sabur Khan was admitted to the hospital with various old-age complications. Later, he tested positive for coronavirus.
He was also a close aide of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also awarded him on the Armed Forces Day on November 21, 2018.
Sabur was born at Charragobra village in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district in 1934. Later, he shifted to Tangail.
He was the founder president of the district construction workers' union.
His dead body will be buried at Karatia in Tangail Sadar upazila's Bindubasini Govt Boys' High School after Namaz-e-Janaza after Zohr prayers.
He left behind his wife, five sons and a daughter to mourn his death.
Abdul Kader Siddiqui Bir Uttam expressed his deep shock at Sabur's death and also conveyed his sympathy to his bereaved family members.
